A You can do it! Homage to Virgil Abloh

He was considered a superstar of the fashion industry. Virgil Abloh inspired us all to be more creative.

He became known as the creative director of the men’s line at Louis Vuitton and founder of the Off-White brand. Now the fashion world and creative industry mourn the designer. With his great ideas, he has captivated us again and again. That’s why we celebrate Virgil Abloh today – him and his inspiring designs:

Green Pop Up Store in New York, 2019

Green is the new black – The Louis Vuitton store is entirely bathed in neon green, with the single hue spanning from the street to all interior elements set inside the store. Green furniture, figures, and even the fire hydrant outside the corner site have been colorized to create an all-encompassing experience for the collection’s presentation.

Receipt rug for IKEA

With his hotly-anticipated Markerad range for IKEA, Abloh hoped to make his designs available to a younger, less affluent audience. The collection especially targeted students and young people moving into their first homes.

Among the homeware pieces, many of which sold out in a matter of minutes, was a rug designed to look like an IKEA receipt for a rug. Abloh added subtle ironic details such as this to the collection, which he likened to pop art.

“In the same way you might hang a piece of art work on your wall, art can bleed into objects like a chair, table or rug,” Abloh said.

Rainbow Colour Pop Up in Soho, New York

Louis Vuitton is hosting a pop-up shop in Soho ahead of the worldwide launch of Virgil Abloh’s 2054 collection. The performance-inspired tech line will be available exclusively for a limited time at the temporary New York residency, which is wrapped in the camouflage rainbow Monogram pattern from the collection.

Thank you for your inexhaustible commitment, your good soul, your enormous creativity and your brilliant visions.

Cheers to you, Virgil!
